My name is Lorraine Hamilton Dixon, I am a qualified Architectural Technician to HNC level with over 25 years experience within my field, and the Director of our family business, Antonine Design.
Previous full time work experience includes; serving my apprenticeship and professional qualifications within a local Private Practice and several established private house building companies.
Antonine Design is a family business based in Bo'ness, West Lothian with the intention to cover all areas of the Central Belt, with a willingness to explore other parts of the country. The company name derived from the location of our projects being predominantly surrounding the local Antonine Wall Heritage Site.
We pride ourselves in the production of detailed design options for extension/refurbishment of their existing properties, be it residential or commercial, as opposed to moving establishment. Enabling the client to take a fresh look at their existing lifestyle or workplace. The new form of the structure shall follow its individual function.
Our service is to fully survey the existing property, take photographic images to assist the local Council Planning Officers, and design the new structure in accordance with the clients brief.
Detailed sketch proposals are produced and discussed at length with the client, prior to lodging the formal detailed applications for extensions, garage conversions, loft conversions, renovation or new build projects. We liaise closely with the local Planning Department, in advance of the submission of formal applications, to seek their professional advice and guidance in advance of the submission of the formal application to assist with the duration of the application and confident progression to submit the Building Warrant application.
Liaising directly with the relevant Local Authority Planning and Building Control Departments is key to conclude applications within a satisfactory timescale to enable the tender process to commence. The tender stage may also be carried out by Antonine Design, at the request of the clients, as an additional service.
The design package includes fully detailed structural calculations also submitted to the Council, by an independent, dedicated Structural Engineering Consultant.
