Reproduction of cast iron period detailing to local landmark.

A very personal project, incorporating the slim cast iron column and brackets with ornate tracery incorporating lute motif, as detailed to the existing period bandstand, located to the frontage of the Bo'ness Town Hall.

The structure was designed and manufactured by Walter McFarlane & Co Saracen Foundry, in Glasgow, opening in 1902. The Town Hall weekly dancing being the location of where my grandparent met, over seventy years ago.

We thought the addition of this same pattern of cast iron column detail to a Victorian period house extension, would pay homage to their memory and to that of the craftsmen of that era
